We’re excited to announce that Orderly Print will soon become an embedded app in your Shopify Admin, making it faster, more flexible, and more intuitive. While we’ve done extensive testing, some instability may occur on Tuesday, January 14th as the upgrade rolls out globally.

What’s New

  • Embedded in Shopify Admin
Quicker access and a more intuitive UI, in line with Shopify standards.

  • Faster Order Loading & Filtering
Orders load in the background, with filtering done at the database level instead of using realtime API calls. This ensures faster loading all around, including filtering and searching orders.

  • Expanded Filtering
Filters now apply to all matching orders, instead of just the current page of results.

  • Faster Document Generation
Improved processing speed for printing and exporting.

  • Easier settings and document design setup

Improved UI design and layout for customizing the app settings and document designs.

  • Tighter Integration & Modernized Codebase
Easier updates and a smoother overall experience moving forward.

Practical information

  • Can we keep using the old version and decide when to switch?

Unfortunately Shopify only allows apps to be either embedded or non-embedded, and do not allow apps to support both at the same time. This means that it is not possible for us to do a slow rollout or provide a switch feature. We will of course work to make this as smooth a transition as possible.

  • Will the app be unusable on the 14th?

We expect the app to be unusable for very short periods of time only (5 minutes or so) and so will be possible to use on the day of upgrade. Of course we will monitor all systems and work to fix any issues that arise as quickly as possible.

  • At what time will the updates be made?

We cannot provide an exact timeline, however we will be starting the upgrade at the beginning of our business day here in Denmark (CET timezone).

Thank you for your patience during this transition! If you have any questions, feel free to reach out.
