Delete or replace a file

Explains how you may delete or replace a file from your orders

Digital Downloads Pro allows easy management of file updates. You can remove or replace files from the app content library.

Delete a File

  1. Go to the "Content library" page

  2. Locate the file you want to remove

  3. At the bottom right-hand side, click on the "Delete" button

  4. Confirm the deletion by clicking on "Delete files".

Note: If a file is deleted, old orders won’t have this available on the files download page if your customers try to reaccess it.

Replace a File

  1. Go to the Content library page

  2. Locate the file you want to replace or update

  3. At the top right-hand side, click on "Replace with new version"

  4. Upload the file(s), and adjust the file name, and version information if necessary.

  5. Confirm by clicking on "Replace file".

Note: If a file is replaced, old and new orders will have the updated file.


If you've modified a digital product by adding new content or replacing one, you may send an update email to your customers by clicking on the 'Send update emails' link in the updated digital product.

Note: This option appears only for products with previous Digital Download Pro orders.
