The "Content Library" of Digital Downloads Pro is where all of the digital content that you would like delivered to customers is stored. There are 3 types of digital content: Files, License keys and Custom links.
The same digital content can be added to multiple different digital products. This helps you save storage space, as well as makes management easier.
You can create and upload your digital content in the Content Library before creating digital products. Any content you create or upload while creating a digital product will also show up in your Content Library.
Files
Files are the most common digital content to deliver. Files can be anything from pdfs, mp4, mp3 etc. To add files to your Content Library do the following:
Go to the "Content library" -> "Files" page
Click on the "Add content" button and choose "Files"
You can now upload one or multiple files at the same time. You can also adjust the file name, and version information if necessary.
Once uploaded, files will show in the content library:
Clicking on an existing file will allow you to edit, update and delete the file if needed.
License Keys
License keys allow you to sell access to your software product or other system that requires controlled access. Digital Downloads Pro supports both automated license key lists, where the app generates and assigns unique keys to customer, or existing license keys lists that you add to the system manually and are assigned from this existing list when needed.
Go to the "Content library" -> "License key lists" page
Click on the "Add content" button and choose "License key lists"
You can now configure your license key lists as needed, either as an automatic or a manual key list. Automated license keys can be validated using our Verify License Key API.
Once added, license key lists will show in the content library
Clicking on an existing license keys list will allow you to edit, update and delete it if needed
Custom links
Custom links are useful for providing links to public pages on a website, such as App download or Instructions pages. Once added to your content library, custom links can be attached to one or more Digital Products.
Go to the "Content library" -> "Custom links" page
Click on the "Add content" button and choose "Custom links"
Add the title for the link
Add the URL for the link
Once added, custom links will show in the content library
Clicking on an existing custom link will allow you to edit, update and delete it if needed
